How To Keep Motivated

One of the biggest challenges a business owner faces is keeping motivated on a day-to-day basis.

When everything is going well it is easy.

But as you know, it doesn’t alway work that way.

One thing you can do easily and effectively is to be open to and then leverage technology.

One way I do that is by keeping my “virtual” coaches and those inspirational only a mouse-click away.

I often start my day with a personally created 20 slide Powerpoint presentation that is for all intents and purposes my business plan or game plan.

I grab a coffee, sit back, and watch.

It’s amazing how focused it keeps me at time when I am otherwise distracted.

Another powerful thing I’ve done is create a 5 minute audio, my own voice, with 20 of the most important things to me as well as things that I need to be doing. I created a play list on my iPod and listen to it regularly. Think of it as virtual mantra!

Hearing your own voice can be a pretty powerful experience. Need some free audio recording software? Try Audacity http://audacity.sourceforge.net.

If you have an iPhone there are all kinds of apps that let you record and playback recordings.

Another very powerful thing you can do is ask yourself a simple question when you start feeling a bit anxious.

“Is what I’m doing right now the most important thing I should be doing – right now?”

There better be a pretty darn good reason if the answer is “no.”

Another powerful way to stay motivated is by following motivating people and those that inspire you at Twitter or at Facebook.

You’ll find Brian Tracy at http://twitter.com/briantracy

You’ll find Tony Robbins at http://www.twitter.com/tonyrobbins

I particularly like Robbins because he pretty rarely plugs his wares.

How do you stay motivated? Who do you follow? Leave a comment below. I’d love to hear from you!

Cheers! to your success!
