Q: Chris, things are pretty slow. Any ideas on how we might kick things up a bit?

A: I sure do! Here’s one. Go through all of your inquiries from the past six months to a year and call everyone who made an inquiry. Yes, CALL. I recently did this with a client and they booked five jobs (out of about 200 inquiries). I’m not surprised.

Many of the wedding professionals I speak with tell me “brides are taking a long time to make a decision” or “people are waiting until the last minute.” A simple, “Hi, you made an inquiry at my website awhile back and I’m just calling to make sure you found what you were looking for and if you didn’t maybe we can help…” If you want an extra punch, while you have them on the phone, ask them if they know anyone getting married?
